Dr. Shawn Scoggin

Dr. Shawn Scoggin received his Doctorate from Parker College of Chiropractic in 2006. He obtain a BBA  from Baylor University in 1987.

In 1998, Dr. Shawn broke his back playing the game he loves.  Fortunately, his back didn’t literally break in half, but with the injury came debilitating pain.  After many visits to medical physicians and taking the prescriptions for medicines they ordered, there was no relief in sight.  Dr. Shawn finally sought out chiropractic treatments which relieved his pain completely and allows him to play the game of soccer today without back pain, medications or surgery.  That is why he chose to become a doctor of chiropractic.

Dr. Shawn is board-certified by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners and the Texas Board of Chiropractic Examiners.  Dr. Shawn graduated Parker College of Chiropractic with certifications in nine different chiropractic techniques including Gonstead, Diversified, Applied Kinesiology, Activator, Sacral-Occipital Technique, Thompson, and extremity protocols. For each patient he uses a variety of specific Chiropractic and Physical Therapy treatment protocols that allows him and his qualified staff to provide a gentle, effective plan for treatment to many different muscular, neurological and joint-related conditions for people of all ages. He recently obtain his certification in Manipulation Under Anesthesia (MUA), and is qualified to perform this procedure with the patient under anesthesia in an outpatient Surgery setting,

Dr. Shawn and the friendly staff of ChiroWorx Family Chiropractic and Rehab emphasize personalized service for each patient, and therefore you will be treated as a person, not a condition. We successfully help people with headaches, neck and back pain, carpal tunnel, sciatica, spinal disc problems, pain between the shoulders, pregnancy-related back and hip issues, arm and leg pain, muscle spasms, and we are highly experienced in treating sports injuries, automobile and work injuries. In addition, we provide wellness counseling on diet, nutrition and exercise, as we feel these are crucial for good health.

Dr. Shawn’s goal is to treat the patient as a whole by restoring optimum nervous system function and allowing the body to heal itself, as opposed to treating only symptoms.  “I want to connect with and to be of service to each and every person I have the pleasure to meet and through chiropractic I can touch so many in need of help because Chiropractic Works!.”

Doctors of Chiropractic are primary health care providers.

According to the Center for Studies in Health Policy, "The DC can provide all three levels of primary care interventions and therefore is a primary care provider, as are MDs and DOs. The doctor of chiropractic is a gatekeeper to the health care system and an independent practitioner who provides primary care services. The DC's office is a direct access portal of entry to the full scope of service."
